Dear Yuletide Writer 2022
Hi! I'm brushstrokesApocalyptic on AO3. Welcome to this Yuletide letter.
First of all, general DNWs.
For AUs: I enjoy canon divergence and what-ifs. I don't like modern AUs or other AUs that serve to make the setting more mundane. I'm okay with crossovers, but if crossing with a non-requested fandom please keep the focus on the fandom(s) I actually asked for.
Tonally, I'm cool with mostly anything from humor to drama. I'm not into pure fluff with no driving plot, and I'd rather things not get overwhelmingly dark, but otherwise I'm probably cool with whatever you throw at me! Also, all prompts are entirely optional. They're just there to give an idea of what I'm after, I'll be happy as long as it follows the general trail of what I've set down!
Kid Icarus
I am requesting Dark Pit! I have a general fascination with characters who act as a direct comment on another character's inner feelings by being some manner of magic clone of the other, while also at the end of the day being their own person with their own opinions. Needless to say, Dark Pit fills this perfectly. He's the embodiment of all of Pit's repressed teenage rebellion tied up with wanderlust and a sense of brutal honesty, while still at his core not being a bad person at all. He's just a bit of a jerk.
Overall, I'd love to see him interact with characters he doesn't get to meet in canon, and/or a peek at what he's doing during all the chapters he's absent. Also, as a note, Pit/Dark Pit is a NoTP.
Some specific prompts:
Bionicle
I am requesting Takua/Takanuva and Jaller together! Their dynamic is endlessly fun to me, Takua not quite fitting in with his wanderlust and urge to poke every little weird thing he sees paired with Jaller, the veritable patron saint of Duty. I'm interested in their relationship at just about any point in the timeline, from their earliest days on Metru Nui all the way to whatever happens post-canon on Spherus Magna. I haven't gone far past the Karda Nui arc in my reread, though, so I'd rather things stick to the Matoran Universe.
Prompts!
CPU Kerfuffle
I am requesting any character, out of Discord Jack, Dantoinette, Prism, and Worldbuilding! I'm most into the bizarre metatextual elements sprinkled throughout the series and brought to the forefront by the Non-Canon Curiosity Tournaments run over the past year. What is an audience but a bunch of gods watching on from a divine peanut gallery, and what is a story but a whole world contained within the play put on for that fickle, all-powerful crowd?
If that's a bit too much, I'll take a slightly more down-to-earth examination of the world implied by the very existence of many of these characters. We can assume something approximately resembling the real world, based on the fact that the tournaments are set in Florida and there's mentions of other coutries like Italy and Brazil, but beyond that it is clearly deeply, profoundly strange. There are talking dogs, birds, alligators, and angels who all pass with little to no comment, Doctor Order's various robots and other creations are only mildly interesting, there are actual Gods participating in bloodsports, and that's not even getting into the alternate dimensions! The world implied by this series is clearly nothing like our own, and I would love to see more of it.
Character Prompts:
Additionally, I invite people who have no goddamn idea what CPUK is to try to write for it regardless, based only on the information and links supplied in this letter. I'll even link the Wiki for you, for as much good as it'll do. I would quite earnestly love to see someone try to write something from an outside perspective! It would be endlessly fascinating to see what assumptions are made, and quite probably hilarious to see what is gotten wrong (in a light-hearted kinda way, I'm not gonna set you up just to make fun of you.) If that sounds like fun to you, then I'll be excited to see what you make!
First of all, general DNWs.
- No sexual content. Keep it PG-13, please. Apart from swearing. Characters can swear as much as they want.
- No unrequested shipfic. Canon and background ships are fine, though.
- No adult/minor ships, here defined as a character canonically under 18 in a romantic or sexual relationship with a character over 18. This includes immortal characters; if they look like a kid and act like a kid, they're a kid. This also includes aging a character up for the fic.
- Blood and injuries are generally fine, but please do not include graphic depictions of needles, self-harm, major injuries to hands or feet, or invasive medical procedures.
- Also no 1st Person POV, please.

Some specific prompts:
- Considering he's completely absent during the Aurum Arc, I'm tempted to believe Dark Pit was just hanging out on a beach somewhere ignoring the alien invasion. You could go cracky with that, or you could delve into a serious analysis of why he doesn't get involved.
- What happens to Dark Pit during the three-year time skip? He's soulless, obviously, but where is his body and what happens to it without a soul or a master to control it? Do we take his comment about being unconscious literally, and say he was in a coma, or was it more like the puppet-like state of Pit's body? Or something else??? Go wild!

Takua | Takanuva, Jaller
I am requesting Takua/Takanuva and Jaller together! Their dynamic is endlessly fun to me, Takua not quite fitting in with his wanderlust and urge to poke every little weird thing he sees paired with Jaller, the veritable patron saint of Duty. Prompts!
- How did the order of Mata Nui go about relocating Takua to Ta-Metru, and how might this have been an unnecessarily complicated affair as a result of Takua being very, very, profoundly strange, and perhaps Jaller sticking his nose into things?
- We got a frankly heartbreaking scene of Jaller and Takanuva getting separated before Karzahni, but we never got to see them reunite! How did Takanuva react to finding out his best friend became a Toa while he wasn't looking? Was it excitement, worry that Jaller would be a better Toa then him and that he might be unnecessary, some mix of that plus even more?
Any (Fandom-blind writers welcome)

Character Prompts:
- For Jack, I'm honestly most interested in him as a supporting character to the other two. However, I am interested in his thought process behind his decision to accept a godly group chat into his mind, as well as more insight into his life before that, living alone in the arctic tundra.
- It's lonely being at the top, and Dantoinette has been at the top for her entire life. Yet somehow, she still manages to be generally chill and well-liked by her peers. What are some moments she's had with her fellow fighters? How did she come to adopt Johannsen? What's she like with Danthony outside of a tournament setting?
- Being the Goddess of the Narrative, Prism is impossible to detach from the weird metatextual fuckery. This, too, is profoundly lonely. How do you relate to other characters when you can effortlessly change the words that they say and the things that they do, with them staying none the wiser? This is ripe ground for all kinds of creepy mind-bending narratives, which I'd be delighted to see.
