Dear Trick or Treat Writer 2023
Sep. 13th, 2023 02:17 pmHey there! This is mostly just a copy/pasted bundle of my prompts for Trick or Treat 2023, for more convenient viewing!
My AO3 is brushstrokesApocalyptic.
General DNW:
- Explicit sexual content. (Attraction and implied/mentioned sex are okay, but don't do it on the page.)
- Unrequested non-canonical ships.
- Detailed gore, especially involving damage to hands or eyes.

I'm in the mood for vampires! Ryunosuke Naruhodo getting menaced by sexy vampires! You're free to write canonverse of course, I'm particularly fond of canon divergence and/or time travel fix-its/"make-it-worse"s. But right here and now I have nothing but vampire themed prompts.
- Barok van Zieks as a principled vampire lord, whose manor Ryunosuke seeks shelter in during a storm. Barok considers himself above the barbaric consumption of Human blood, and even further above associating with the treacherous Japanese, but something about this man's plain and simple integrity seems to draw him in— something Barok fears he'll regret in the end.
- ^ The opposite side of that situation; Ryunosuke seeks shelter in a big spooky mansion, the master of which is also very large and intimidating, not the least bit because he's openly bleeding disdain every time he looks at Ryunosuke. He's stuck here until the storm passes, however, and that might just be enough time for the two of them to come to a mutual understanding... or for the very clearly a vampire to lose his self-control and devour Ryunosuke whole.
- Kazuma Asogi as a vampire hunter turned vampire, having nearly lost his life in an accident but been saved by Lord van Zieks. Now without his memories, he lives his unlife masked and in a faint haze, obediently following orders from his new master right up until he encounters a man with a strangely familiar face, whose presence awakens unexpected feelings in him— namely, an all-consuming thirst for this man's blood.
- ^ Once again, the other perspective of the above prompt. Ryunosuke's best friend/gay lover died some time ago, and he's just about begun to move on when he encounters a ghost in the form of Lord van Zieks's apprentice, masked and cloaked and nameless and so, so much like Kazuma. He chases this phantom with the desperation of a man who hadn't really moved on, and doesn't realize the danger he's in until he's already knee deep in all of it.
- Herlock Sholmes gets mad that he isn't being included in the Hot Vampire Action, so he conspires to turn into a vampire so that he can sexily menace Ryunosuke too.
- Or, Herlock Sholmes as some sort of Van Helsing type vampire hunter, including such things as "what kind of stake is best for piercing a vampire's heart" on the list of seemingly useless trivia he keeps in his head instead of paying attention to astrophysics. Seeing the danger Ryunosuke is in from all the vampires whose attentions he manages to grab, he decides to magnanimously take this man under his wing, teaching him all that he knows about how not to get his blood sucked out with a silly straw, and perhaps also make out with him along the way. Just for fun.
- Getting less specific, anyone else could be a vampire too! Perhaps Klint van Zieks is a vampire, having "survived" the Professor and been in hiding/hibernation ever since, unbeknownst to his entirely human brother. Perhaps Genshin Asogi was the vampire, a realization that leaves Kazuma and his vampire-hunting habits in very heavy denial and/or horror! Perhaps Iris could be a dhampir, posing unique challenges for Sholmes as he raises her!!! The sky's the limit, my friend. As long as there's vampires.
- SECRET BONUS LETTER-ONLY PROMPT!!!

You may mix and match my prompts and requested ships as you see fit. Additionally, there are some ships that I didn't request via tag but which I'd still enjoy seeing in the background/as a side dish, those being:

Also, regarding ships, I have a very loose definition for what counts as such! They do not need to be explicitly romantic! I very much enjoy stuff that straddles the line between platonic/romantic/sexual, particularly when it comes to the specific prompts I've written. I'm requesting the inherent homoeroticism of drinking another man's blood more than I'm asking for them to kiss and say "I love you." They can do that if you feel it suits the story, but don't feel obligated to make it straightforwardly shippy!

My funny little guy! Sweet little scary silent protagonist. I like the Knight as a weird little principled ronin with the appearance of a small child and the swordfighting prowess of an old master. I like them being called Little Ghost (with careful acknowledgement that the nickname came from Hornet, so depending on the circumstances of the fic they may not go by that name!) and I REALLY like them becoming the Lord of Shades. My best friend Big Scary Shadow Monster.
Treat Prompts:
- All the sibling fluff! Post-canon recovery featuring a complicated relationship with Hornet and THK, who have both tried to murder them but are very much family and they can't not care for them!
- I'm ALWAYS ready for a good fix-it wherein the Knight shows up in Hallownest pre-fall and fixes things. Could be time travel, could be plain old divergence so that they show up early, either way I'd love to see it!
Trick Prompts:
- In general, people don't lean enough into the fact that the Knight is the spawn of two ancient gods melded with the substance of the pure, devouring darkness at the bottom of the world. Make them weird and off-putting and scary and think in a way just a little bit too far to the left of where you think they ought to be! Make other characters glad the Knight is on their side of the war against the Radiance, because if they were the target of the Lord of Shades's wrath and hunger, they would be SO screwed.
- On that note, some sort of time travel AU or somesuch scenario wherein the Knight devours the Radiance before the fall of Hallownest, and then proceeds to turn on the Pale King because he is a light and what does the darkness do to light but devour?
- Or perhaps fic from the perspective of the Radiance, regarding the inescapable tide of the darkness coming to claim her as she is unable to escape the Hollow Knight's mind.
Requesting: Treat - Fic, Trick - Fic, Akako Koizumi
Ah, Akako Koizumi, the weirdest part of the shared DCMK universe. I'd love to see all sorts of explorations of her character! I'd especially love to see her interact in novel ways with novel characters. Detective Conan crossovers are VERY welcome!

- Akako directly involves herself in one of Kaito's heists in an attempt to "help". Kaito does not appreciate it.
- Akako and Aoko have girls night and complain about the men in their lives. (Kaito. They complain about Kaito.) Maybe they summon a demon as well. Girls night!
- Akako gets tied up in some murder that one or more teen detectives are involved in! Magic does not mix well with deductive reasoning and no one is happy about this.
- Akako throws a Halloween party with Kaitou Kid in attendance! Kaitou Kid has no choice in the matter.
